Most Ancestry trees suggest that Elizabeth's parents were John Pledger of Salem, New Jersey (British America) and Hannah Champnes of same. Tree "# 3 pledger wilson inclusive" by Mark Pledger cites a history (John Pledger Sr and Jr history while in Salem area of NJ as written and researched by Robert Marion) that seems to prove John Pledger Sr 1650-1694 had a son John Pledger Jr 1680-1744 who married 1) Dorothy Roberts and had children Elizabeth 1699 (married Redstreak, Casperson), Martha 1701, Mary 1703, and John 1705. When widowed, John Jr married 2) widow Mary Hannah Champnes Dec 1731 (no children). This pedigree does not support the idea that John Pledger Jr and Hannah Champnes (or Dorothy Roberts) were the parents of either Elizabeth Pledger b. 1712 who married Henry Council, or her probable brother Philip Pledger b. 1710.
