John was born Dec. 15, 1916, in Gem City to Elbert C. and Rosa Ann Robinson. He married Mary Jo Avent on June 14, 1940, in Clovis, N.M.
John and Mary Jo lived in Canyon in 1940, where he farmed with his brother and father in Happy. They moved to Panhandle in 1953 as he continued his farming career.
John and Mary Jo moved to Gruver in 1961, where he farmed until 2003. He was a Mason for more than 50 years.
The family truly appreciated the help and support of Hansford Hospice.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert C. and Rose Ann Robinson; a son, Johnny Robinson; a brother; and four sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo Robinson; two daughters, Peggy Robinson of Gruver and Mary Ann Gill and husband Paul of Fairfax Station, Va.; a son, Joe C. Robinson and wife Kay of Gruver; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
