Staley Allison Avent, 68, died on Friday, July 8, 1994. He was a native of Chatham County, N.C., and a Peninsula resident for 40 years.
Mr. Avent retired from M. Rosenblatt & Sons as a Senior Designer. He was a member of Hidenwood Presbyterian Church. He graduated in 1950 from Elon College in Elon College, N.C., Mr. Avent was the past president of the Icarian Flying Club.
Survived by his son, Dr. Mitchell Allison Avent of Newport News; his sister, Mrs. Ruth McBaine of Mebane, N.C.; two brothers, William Avent of Lincolnton, N.C., and Douglas Avent of Burlington, N.C.; and two grandchildren, Kassi Avent and Brendan Avent
