Roy Ray Avants, 79, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 3, 2015, after a long illness. Roy was born Dec. 1, 1935, in Paducah.
He was a deacon at First Baptist Church in White Settlement since 1989.
Survivors: Wife of 61 years, Carolyn Avants; son, Royce Avants; brother, Garvis Avants and wife, Kathy; sister, Patsy Amick and husband, Mikal; grandchildren, Zachary and Morgan Avants; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and one sister.
