Mr. Avants died at 1:20 p.m. yesterday in Charity hospital in New Orleans after an illness of two months.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Elsie Avants; one daughter, Carolyn Jewel; two brothers, James and Robert Avant of Walker; is parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Avants of Walker; and four sisters, Mrs. Jack Meade of Walker, Mrs. Forrest Delatte of Denham Springs, Mrs. Leroy Shaffett of Zachary and Miss Esther Avants of Walker.
