Misc. Notes
David Nicholson was a soldier in the Revolution. His pay record shows that he received pay for militia duty rendered after the fall of Charleston, May 12, 1780. The account was one of those rendered by Col. Robert Anderson. Col. Anderson had been assigned the duty of Commissioner of Ninety Six District of obtaining the records of that district and passing upon them himself. The bills all read,'duty per Col. Anderson's return.' The Justice of the Peace (Russell Wilson) before whom David Nicholson made his affidavit recites that the service was done in Col. Purvis's Regiment.
