He was born in Robeson County on Feb. 19, 1969, the son of the late Thomas Edward Avent Sr. and Barbara McGoogan Avent of Wilmington.
Surviving are his wife, Averi Hall Avent of the home; a daughter, Lillian Kate Avent of the home; his mother, Barbara M. Avent of Wilmington; a brother, Ted Avent of Lumberton; a sister, Susan Avent of Tampa, Fla.; and his maternal grandmother, Dainese McGoogan of Red Springs.
