Halseth Laurence Odegaard Halseth passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2002, at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington.
He was born on April 4, 1931, in Hibbing, Minnesota and graduated from Hibbing High School in 1949. Larry and Carole Avent were married on December 16, 1950, in Hibbing, Minnesota.
In 1958 the family moved to southern California where they made their home and raised the ir six children, Larry, Karen, Mark, Tom, Colleen and Carl. Larry and Carole were married 52 years.
He was employed by Kaiser Steel in the plate mill on the end-shear machine and retired in 1988.
He loved the changing of the seasons and had dreams of moving out of southern California. His dreams were realized in 1995 when the move to Port Townsend was made.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Carole, at their home in Cape George and by five of their children, daughter, Karen Halseth of Santa Rosa, C alifornia, son, Mark Halseth and his wife, Jane and their daughter, Hilary of Minneapolis, Minnesota, son, Tom Halseth and his wife, Debbie and their children, Sarah, Amy and David of Kent, Washington, daughter, Colleen Malinowski and her husband, Bob and their children, Jillian and Christopher of Chino, California and son, Carl Halseth and his wife, Shelli and their children, Lauren and Bryce of Murrieta Springs, California.
He is also survived by his brother, Norman of Colorado and sister, Bernice of Minn esota.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his oldest son, Laurence O. Halseth Jr. Larry's family says, "His passing will leave a hole in our hearts but we know he will no longer suffer the pains of these last years that have now been lifted from him
