Charley Monroe Fry was born on September 26, 1927 at Pittsburg, Oklahoma to William Thomas Fry and Nora Frances (Avants) Fry.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He also went over during the Berlin build up in Germany. He received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal, Silver Star, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was a mechanic and farmer.
He married Shirley Ward on September 4, 1951 in McAlester. He enjoyed farming and squirrel hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Fry, children, Newman Fry, Tommy Fry, Mary Ford, Kenny Fry, 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Bill Fry and Jim Fry, 1 sister, Sue Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Newman Fry, 1 brother, Johnny Fry and 1 sister, Ann Poole.
Military Honors will be provided by the Ft. Sill Honor Guard.
