Mrs. Roberts was born in Sandersville, GA. She was the daughter of the late C. Binion Avant and the late Effie Tanner Avant.
She graduated Salutatorian from Sandersville High School and attended Mercer University on Scholarship. She was a member of Grace Church and was a loving wife, mother and homemaker.
She also worked for Roberts Electric Company and the Dublin City School System. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her husband, W. C. "Wimpy" Roberts; sisters, Dorthy Barrow, June Viglione, Virginia Meeks; brothers, James Avant, C. B. Avant and Paul Avant. She died Sunday, April 3, 2011.

She is survived by her children, Sherra (Wayne) Durden of Dublin, Rita (Curt) Wilhoite, of Snellville, Bonnie (Mike) Sanders of Dublin, Jeffrey (Caron) Roberts; sisters and brother, Frances Avant Holmes, of Sandersville, Hut (Joanne) Avant of Sandersville, Fayne Avant Samples of Atlanta, Grandchildren, Tiffany (Kevin) Brix, Angela (Stewart) Dixon, John (Amy) Wilhoite, Witt Durden, David Sanders, Kali (Hansel) Perez, Laura Lee Roberts, Daniel Roberts, Leandra Roberts, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

John Wilhoite, Daniel Roberts, Stewart Dixon, David Sanders, Dennis Meeks, Lee Avant and Benny Avant will serve as pallbearers.
