GOLDEN - Wencil D. Beam, 80, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, at his residence. He was born Sept. 1, 1922, in Itawamba County to Edgar Beam and Minnie Lou Johnson. He worked in logging and in sawmilling. He was U.S. Army veteran and a member of the V.F.W.
Survivors include three daughters, Elois Lindsey and her husband, David, Adoyce Yielding and Bernie Hawkins and her husband, James, all of Golden; one son, Wayne Beam of Golden; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four step grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Merlene Beam in 2001; three sisters; four brothers; one grandson, Michael Beam; two sons-in-law, J.T. Wood and Eugene Yielding.
