Misc. Notes
In January of 1862 Josiah Hall enlisted in the CSA and began serving as a private in Capt. Williams Company I, 41st Mississippi Infantry Regiment, stationed in Itawamba County. On August 30, 1862 he was promoted to 5th sergeant.
On November 23, 1863, Josiah was captured during the
Battle of Missionary Ridge and after time at Louisville, Kentucky, camp was transferred to
Rock Island, Illinois, prison on December 6, 1863. On May 3, 1865, he was sent to New Orleans for exchange.
