Claudius was under legal age when his family arrived in Mannikintown, Virginia.

By 1714 when a record of inhabitants of Mannikintown was taken, Claude Garry and wife, whose name is believed to be Jeanne, were shown. In 1716 he purchased 50 acres on the south side of the James River, then in Henrico County, in King William Parrish. Through the years following he is found on the tax lists, once is mentioned as objecting to a road change, once assigned to keep the road cleared, and once paid for cleaning the church In 1735 he sold the 50 acres and bought an additional 192 acres. This area later fell into Goochland County. He died not long after. 

The inventory of the estate of Claudius Gory in 1737 is available from Goochland County.

Proof of Daniel is contained in Deed Book 4, Goochland Co., Va. 1731-1745, p. 302, as follows:
March 10, 1743 to Joseph Bingley of Goochland, for 19£, a certain tract of land of 192 acres on the south side of James River in Goochland, joining Francis Forceys deceased, and Stephen Forceys and John James Dupute, and also joining Joseph Bingley) the land that Joseph Bingley did formerly sell to Claudis Gory, the father of the above Daniel Gorey.
