Earnest Carstens spent his working career as a printer, most of the time with the Evening Democrat except for a few years with the Dodd Printing Company spending some time in Columbia, Illinois. He also taught printing in the public high school for many years.
FORT MADISON, Iowa, Nov. 25 1925 --Ernest Carstens, an employee of the EVENING DEMOCRAT, here reported that he heard the Petite Parisienne station at Paris during the International radio-casting tests last night. Mr. Carstens said that a number of persons at his home heard a grand opera selection and piano solo from the Paris station.
