"Came to America in 1740, landed at Philadelphia, thence to Orange County, Va." "He was in Capt. John Wilson's Muster Roll, 1742, in French and Indian War. Was also a private under Capt. James Patton. (Crozier's Colonial Records, p. 93).
His will is on file at Staunton, Augusta Co., Va., and mentions following children: with exception of Andrew, who was a posthumous child, as we find a record of 'Magaret Crockett, widow, baptizes son Andrew.' A clause in his will also makes mention of the expected child."
