Between 1738 - 1740, John (Jack) Martin was a member of the 
House of Burgess from Caroline County, Virginia. Between 1752 - 1756, he represented King William and Caroline Counties in the 
General Assembly. Francis West replaced him in General Assembly when he died.
In 1754, John had land in several counties in Virginia (240 acres) on both sides of the Hardware River.
