Misc. Notes
Lord William Havard is a direct descendent of Walter de Havre de Grace of Normandy, France who was a supporter of William the Conqueror in 1066. In 1086 Walter was given an area around Brecon as thanks for his support. Bernard de Neumarch, William the Conqueror's brother-in-law, awarded the manor of Pontwilyn to Walter de Havard.
The Havard family married into the royal family of Wales, the Vaughans. The name Havard is of Viking origin from Norway.
