At the age of 24, John married Sarah Bosworth on 21 Feb 1664 in Hingham. Sarah was 19 at the time of her marriage. Sarah may have been the daughter of John’s stepfather. (Records here are confusing. Some records indicate he was married to Mary Bosworth, Sarah’s sister. However this has been disputed as some historians say Mary, who was listed as a “school dame” at her death, was never married.)
