At one time, Mr. Avant was a meat cutter for L.D. Smith's Grocery on S.Wayne St. and was well known in Milledgeville.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, five daughters and two sisters, and six brothers also survive. His brother Mr. Claxton Avant resides in Milledgeville.
