James David "Yellow Bird" Summers, 68, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017, at his home.
He was born September 2, 1948 to the late James Summers and the late Syble Smith Summers in Fulton. He was a member of Plainview Church of Christ. He enjoyed fishing, listening to Blue Grass music, going to auctions, singing, collecting model trains and spending time with family and friends. He served in the Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He retired from Mueller Industries as a truck driver after many years of service.
Services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday March 16, 2017 at Senter Funeral Home with Minister Tom House, and Bro. Bill Adams officiating. Burial will be in White Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday March 15, 2017 at Senter Funeral Home.
Senter Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Hilda Summers of Fulton, 2 Daughters, Tina Guntharp, Monica Summers, 1 Son, Bruce (Stephanie) Summers all of Fulton, 2 Granddaughters, Tessa Guntharp and Maddison Summers both of Fulton, 3 Sisters, Brenda (Eric) Shields of Fulton, Suzanne Russell of Tupelo, and Beth Miller (Marcus) Romine of Athens, AL, Host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Gary Loague, Harvey Clements, Eddie Stanton, Will Loague, Joey Thomas, Greg Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Patterson, Keith Beasley, and Roger Hooten
